Vandex cementitious system
The under-steps vault area provided valuable additional storage space for the basement flat.
The problem
The existing tanking system was found to be breaking down through age and
condensation was increasingly becoming a problem....Before
System chosen
Due to the difficulties associated with providing the required drainage for a
cavity-drain membrane system, a cement based waterproofing system was chosen.
Vandex BB75 was applied to the walls, Vandex BB75e to the floor-wall juncture
and Vandex Uni-mortar 1 to the floor slab.

To help control the condensation problem within the vault, an insulation based plastering system was used comprising of thermal boards and studded walls packed with Rockwool insulation.
A plaster finish and new skirting boards completed the installation.
